"Sophisticated refinement on the nose with intriguing red fruit and spice. Spice carries the torch for the “otherness” of 2020 pliocene. Anything but “simple, fruit forward” the cuvee is a tightly wound cocoon urging one on to swirl the glass and take another unraveling sip. A wine to discover and ponder over! The 2020 vintage provides more pleasure upon release than the inaugural 2019 vintage of Pliocene. However, like the 2019, the coming months in bottle will certainly allow the wine to further blossom. The ideal drinking window should begin in 2022." Notes from the winery

Wine Profile
"From a densely planted block of own-rooted, head-pruned, “pre-clonal” vines, this still-young bottling begins with aromas of black fruit, wet stone and crumpled violet. There's fascinating tension and grip to the palate, with hints of white pepper, crushed chalk, rose hips and purple-flower flavors. Drink 2022–2032." Matt Kettmann
